During the weekend of 1st & 2nd December volunteers collected 2.3 tonnes of food donated by customers and staff of Tesco Woolton Superstore, including many Christmas extras. We were really overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community, thank you all so much. Particular thanks to our glamorous Tesco assistants who worked tirelessly all weekend! We were all surprised when Tesco CEO Philip Clarke popped in to see how our collection was progressing. The weekend food collection happened simultaneously in 290 stores nationwide, with 192 foodbanks participating!
