Looking forward to the season of Harvest, we’re calling on everyone in South Liverpool to do something amazing and help support local people facing hardship.
Food banks across the Trussell community have experienced record levels of need as more people struggle to afford the essentials. Last year, at South Liverpool Foodbank we provided 6,855 emergency parcels – and 2,264 of these went to children.
It’s likely that this situation will only worsen during the winter – so this Harvest is a particularly important time for local communities to support their food bank if they possibly can.
We know that many people turn to food bank as a last resort and feel embarrassed that they need to ask for help, but we’re here to offer a warm welcome, provide emergency food and essential items and help people access services that can lift them out of poverty. By coming together and supporting us this Harvest and through to winter you’re not just offering a meal – you’re extending a hand of friendship, combating isolation and helping to provide an environment where everyone is valued.
