Dovecot Distribution Centre opens 9th January

We are opening our 5th food distribution centre this week, serving the community of Dovecot with the help of volunteers from Dovecot Evangelical Church on East Prescot Road. The centre will be open on Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm.

Two new food distribution points for the South Liverpool Foodbank opened in April, supported by funds from the Mayor’s Foodbank Funding Pledge. They are within St. Mark’s Church in Childwall Valley, and Netherley Youth & Community Initiative. Opening times are listed on our home page.

St. Julie’s High School visits for BBC School Report

Students and staff at St. Julie’s Catholic High School in Woolton collected food for us in March, as part of their BBC School Report 2013. ASDA Garston – small but powerful

Its a relatively small store – but its customers and staff have huge hearts for the community. Spearheaded by Community Champion William, in just a couple of weeks almost £150 worth of food donations were collected. Thank you for this support – it really makes a difference.

A wonderful evening of singing and fellowship took place last Saturday 2nd March when the Liverpool Harmonic Gospel Choir, under the direction of Tyndale Thomas MBE, entertained us at Bridge Chapel Centre. During the weekend of 1st & 2nd December volunteers collected 2.3 tonnes of food donated by customers and staff of Tesco Woolton Superstore, including many Christmas extras. This week saw the opening of the new Foodbank distribution centre in Speke, at the Noah’s Ark Centre.
